Purpose of this page

This page explains how I ❤️ MEP should be understood when used as a free browser-based technical tool website. The service is designed to support practical planning, estimation review, early engineering checks, site discussion, and document preparation. It is not designed to replace professional engineering judgement, approved design software, manufacturer selection, authority review, project specifications, contract requirements, or local code compliance. Users should treat the output as a structured calculation aid and not as a final approval document.

Browser-based operation

The launch version is intentionally lightweight. Tools run in the browser using static HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript. The website does not require an account, dashboard, subscription, login, or saved project workspace. Values entered into calculators are processed in the browser during the active session. The branded print report is produced through the browser print function so users can save a PDF locally using their own device.

Cookies versus local storage

The launch version may not require traditional tracking cookies. It may use local storage for interface convenience such as local counters or feedback status. Local storage is similar in practical effect to browser-side storage but is controlled by the user browser and can be cleared through browser settings.

Local storage and counters

Some interface features may use browser local storage. This includes local visit counters, vote status, and suggestion drafts or submitted suggestion text in the static version. Local storage remains on the user device and is controlled by the browser. If local storage is cleared, private browsing is used, or a different device is opened, those local records may no longer appear. A browser-based counter must not be interpreted as a shared website visitor total.

No account and no project database

The service is built to avoid unnecessary collection of project data. Users should not need to upload confidential drawings, commercial offers, authority documents, client details, personal identification, or proprietary project schedules to use the launch tools. The website does not provide a user account area and does not intentionally create a cloud project database in the static launch version.

Professional responsibility

MEP work can affect life safety, fire protection, electrical safety, water quality, mechanical operation, energy consumption, and building compliance. The person using the tool remains responsible for checking all results against applicable codes, Saudi or local authority requirements, civil defense requirements where relevant, manufacturer data, consultant comments, contract documents, site conditions, and the approved basis of design.

Accuracy limitations

The calculators use simplified planning assumptions. Many real projects require derating factors, diversity rules, ambient correction, cable grouping, voltage drop method selection, hydraulic losses, pump curves, duct pressure-loss calculations, fire hazard classification, pipe material data, water quality requirements, acoustic requirements, equipment schedules, and approved standards. A simplified calculator cannot capture every variable.

Updates and corrections

The website may be updated to improve formulas, input validation, warning messages, print formats, metadata, icons, accessibility, and technical content. A result generated on an earlier version may differ from a result generated later if a formula, assumption, rounding method, or warning threshold has been improved. Users should record the version number shown in the footer when saving reports for internal review.

User conduct

Users should enter only values they are permitted to process and should avoid entering confidential client information into suggestion boxes or contact forms. The tools should not be used to misrepresent engineering approval, bypass qualified review, create unsafe installations, or issue final design claims without proper verification.

Contact and improvements

Suggestions are welcome because the purpose of the site is utility. Useful suggestions include missing input fields, better warning thresholds, country-specific assumptions, print report improvements, and new professional workflows. In the static version, suggestions may be saved locally unless a backend endpoint is later enabled.

Operational boundaries

I ❤️ MEP is designed as a public utility website, not as a managed engineering service. The website does not review drawings, does not certify calculations, does not approve equipment selections, does not inspect installations, and does not confirm compliance with civil defense, municipality, utility, consultant, insurer, or client requirements. The tools can help organize calculations and identify obvious planning concerns, but they cannot see hidden project conditions such as cable routing, ambient temperature, installation grouping, pump suction conditions, available water pressure, system zoning, equipment model limitations, site workmanship, or changes made during construction.

Information entered by users

Users are responsible for the information they enter. Incorrect units, outdated quantities, misunderstood design criteria, copied BOQ values, or incomplete site information can produce misleading outputs. Before acting on a result, users should verify the source of each input, confirm the units, compare the answer with project drawings and specifications, and obtain review from the relevant engineer or approving party. Where a tool offers a sample data button, the sample is only a demonstration of the workflow and must not be treated as a design recommendation for any actual project.

Third-party hosting and browser controls

The website may be hosted by third-party infrastructure providers. Availability, uptime, caching, SSL certificate renewal, server logging, content delivery, and backup practices may depend on the selected hosting environment. Users can control many browser-side items directly through browser settings, including clearing local storage, blocking cookies, using private browsing, disabling scripts, or removing saved site data. Disabling browser features may prevent calculators, feedback buttons, counters, print formatting, or navigation elements from working correctly.

Document and report use

Print and Save as PDF outputs are intended for internal calculation records, estimation files, tender discussion, or preliminary coordination. They should not be submitted as final design documents unless independently reviewed, corrected, and approved by the responsible professional. Reports generated by the website include simplified assumptions and a disclaimer footer because they are not a substitute for stamped drawings, authority-approved calculations, shop drawings, commissioning records, or manufacturer-certified selections.

Changes to website practices

The website may later add server-side counters, contact forms, analytics, advertising, referral links, or improved suggestion handling. If those features are added, the privacy, cookie, security, and terms pages should be updated before production release. Any future backend should continue to follow the same core principle: collect the minimum data required, avoid accounts unless truly necessary, and avoid storing sensitive project information unless there is a clear professional reason and proper security design.
